What is your photography style?
  • I prefer a natural feel to the photography so you can re-live the feeling of the moment.  You will receive a mix of artful posed portraits suitable for framing, as well as a candid photos of your family and friends to capture the fun and energy of the event.  I have perfected a balance of editing your photos to bring them to life while not over processing them.
How many weddings/portraits/live shows have you photographed?
  • I have been photographing family portraits for over 15 years with many repeat clients wanting to document their growing family.  I have been honoured to photograph over a dozen weddings and love hearing the joy people have when they receive their package!
    For events, I have covered countless concerts for several local and national bands and promoters, as well as corporate events/staff parties.
Do you have a portfolio or sample albums we can see?
  • A selection of my favourite photo captures can be found in the various sections of my website.
What is included in your photography packages?
  • All photo packages include an initial meeting, either in person or virtually depending on your preference, to get to know each other and what you're looking for.  The fully edited photos will be sent digitally in a high resolution format suitable for prints up to 18"x24".
Can we customize our photography package?
  • Yes!  In our initial conversation we will discuss your needs and can customize a package for you.
Do you have backup equipment?
  • Yes! I have backup cameras, lenses, and memory cards should the need arise.  Once finally photos are delivered, we will keep a redundant backup of your treasured memories for 1 year.
How do you handle unexpected circumstances or bad weather?
  • I always prepare for the unexpected.  I have rain protection for my equipment, the experience to quickly adjust to unexpected weather/lighting conditions, and the versatility to accommodate a change in event itinerary.  If your event is a go, then so am I!
How soon after will we receive our photos?
  • Turnaround time to receive your final images depends on the package.  A portrait session will be delivered within 2 weeks, while a wedding or event  package will delivered within 4 weeks. 
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding photo sessions?
  • In our initial conversation we can discuss bundling a portrait session with a wedding package for a special rate.
Can we provide a list of specific shots or poses we want?
  • While my experience will bring a variety of poses and compositions to create beautiful photos, I'm happy to hear your desires or inspiration for certain shots.
How do you handle photo retouching and editing?
  • I prefer to keep your images as natural as possible. I will adjust colour and lighting to ensure the photos will look their best on screen or print, and remove any unwanted blemishes, stray hairs, lint, etc.
    I also have the tools and skills for more advance photo editing if that's what you're looking for in a portrait session, such as visual effects to match a costume!
Do you charge extra for travel or accommodations?
  • All photo packages are based on a location within 50km of the Nanaimo region on Vancouver Island.  Additional costs for travel will be fully disclosed before finalizing our booking.
Can we meet in person before booking your services?
  • Absolutely!  Posing in front of a camera can be intimidating for most people, so getting to know eachother beforehand will help make sure you're as comfortable as possible.
What is your backup plan if you are unable to photograph our wedding/portraits/live event?
  • I maintain a organized calendar to avoid the chances of scheduling conflicts.  Should an unexpected emergency occur I will contact you with as much notice as possible to reschedule for the earliest date possible.  For wedding/event packages that can't be rescheduled, you will receive a full refund of any deposits paid.
Are there any additional fees we should be aware of?
  • All fees will be fully discussed and disclosed prior to finalizing a booking so you are always protected.  Travel is the primary source of additional fees above what is listed, as well as additional licensing if your photos will be used for advertising/marketing purposes.
Do you require a deposit, and when is the final payment due?
  • After our initial communication and in-person/virtual meeting to discuss your event, we require a 25% deposit to finalize the booking, with the remaining balance due 1 week before the event.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

  • The deposit is intended to keep your date available in our calendar and is non refundable.  If your event is postponed, or if life gets in the way of a portrait booking, we will always try to find a different day that will work for you.

Who has the copyright, and how can I use the photos included in my photo package?

  • As the photographer we retain copyright of the photos and, unless otherwise discussed, retain the right to use any photos for purposes of our portfolio.
  • You will receive high resolution images that can be used to make prints for personal use, as well as small resolution versions that can be used for sharing with friends via email or social media.  Tagging our social media page is always appreciated.
  • If your session includes photos that are to be used for marketing/advertising purposes we will discuss additional licensing in our initial meeting.
